After completing the logo and visual identity design for the competition, my overall impression was somewhat disappointing. The design felt rather cold and corporate, lacking real energy. It didn’t quite reflect that this was a junior event or a sport where the shuttlecock travels faster than in any other.

I resolved this through the mascot design, which brought the entire story to life. I chose an eagle (a bird that also appears on the host country’s coat of arms). I stylized it to visually align with the rest of the materials, and the physical “live” mascot only further enriched the entire concept.
